Security Deposit
In order to confirm your reservation,
a $300 security deposit is required and must be received within three (3) days of booking the reservation. The
deposit is not applied toward rent. However, it is fully refundable within 60 days of departure, provided the following
provisions are met:
1. No damage is done to the unit or its contents beyond normal wear and tear
2. No charges are incurred due to contraband, pets, collection of rents, or excessive cleaning/laundry or
services during the stay
3. No items are missing from the unit
4. All keys are left in the
lock box and the unit is left locked, and all patio doors are closed and locked
5. All charges accrued during
the stay are paid prior to departure
6. No linens are lost or damaged
7. No smoking
occurs and candles are not used in the unit or on the lanai
8. The renter is not evicted by the owner
(or representative of the owner), local law enforcement, or the management of the condominium property
Should
any of the above terms be violated, the security deposit will be applied against any and all replacements, fines, cleaning,
and any other charges incurred to return the condo to its condition before the renter's stay began. Any remaining
amount from the security deposit will be returned to the renter. Should the charges exceed the security deposit, the
renter will be responsible for all additional charges.
Rental Fees
All rates quoted are subject to a 4.166% gross excise tax and a 9.25% transient
accommodation tax as mandated by the State of Hawaii. An out-clean charge of $150 plus tax will also be assessed.
Note that daily maid service is not provided.
There
is a three (3) night minimum stay. Exceptions may be made under special circumstances. The maximum number
of guests is limited to six (6) persons. An additional charge of $25.00 per person per night for guests in addition
to 6 will be assessed
Long distance calls are the responsibility of the renter; the phone is enabled for local
and toll-free calls only.
Payment
Receipt of full payment of the rental fees plus taxes is
required no later than 60 days prior to your check-in date. If reservations are made less than 60 days prior to check-in,
full payment of rental fees plus taxes is required within seven (7) days of booking.
We accept Visa, Mastercard,
and personal checks through PayPal, as well as bank money orders.
Cancellations
Upon
90 days written notice, we will refund the Security Deposit net of a $50 administration fee. If less than 90 days written
notice, the entire security deposit will be forfeited. If less than 60 days written notice is received, the entire rent
and excise tax will be forfeited unless we are able to re-rent the property.
Extended Stay Reservations
For reservations of three (3) weeks and longer, 20% of the rental
fee will be required as a Security Deposit. The Security Deposit amount over $300 will be credited towards the rental
fee at the time it becomes due. The remaining $300 will be fully refundable within 30-45 days of departure, provided
the Security Deposit provisions are met.
Check-in/Check-out
Check-in is at 3:00 p.m. HST
(Hawaii Standard Time).
Check-out is at 10:00 a.m. HST
We will be happy to accommodate early check-ins and
late check-outs, if possible. Please let us know at least seven (7) days in advance if you would like an early check-in
or late check-out and we will advise you if this is possible based on other renters arriving or departing the property.
Directions & Keys
Upon confirmation
of full payment, you will receive our Rental Receipt and Directions Letter. This will provide you with driving directions
from Lihue Airport to the property, along with the code to the lock box containing the key, located at the front door of the
home.
Hurricane or Storm Policy
No refunds will be given unless:
1. The
National Weather Service orders mandatory evacuations in a “tropical storm/hurricane warning” area.
2. This
property is included in the mandatory evacuation order for the tropical storm/hurricane warning.
The day that the
National Weather Service orders a mandatory evacuation order in a “tropical storm/hurricane warning” area, we
will refund:
1. Any unused portion of rent from a guest currently registered
2. Any
unused portion of rent from a guest that is scheduled to arrive, and wants to shorten their stay to come in after the hurricane
warning is lifted
3. Any advance rents collected or deposited for a reservation that is scheduled to arrive
during the “hurricane warning” period
Miscellaneous
Makahuena Properties LLC and its representatives shall not be liable to renter, renter's guests, or other occupants or persons
on the premises for personal injury caused by other persons, theft, burglary, assault, other crimes, fire, water, wind,
rain, smoke, or any other causes.
